Direct answer

There is no national fixed price for medical translation in China. The final quote normally depends on the language pair, document volume, medical complexity, urgency, appointment length, location and whether advance terminology preparation is required.

01

Written document translation

A provider may quote by source word, Chinese character, page or project. Ask how scanned pages, tables, handwritten notes, imaging reports and quality review are counted. The original document should remain attached to every translation.

02

On-site medical interpretation

Appointment interpretation is usually quoted by a minimum booking period, half day, full day or confirmed appointment. Travel time, waiting time, overtime, evening work and appointments at multiple campuses may be separate.

03

What an itemized quote should show

The quote should identify the language pair, documents or appointment, quantity or duration, delivery time, revision scope, travel charges, cancellation terms and taxes. Hospital charges must remain separate.

04

Why the cheapest quote may not be the lowest cost

Inconsistent dates, medicines or terminology can delay a hospital review. Compare relevant medical experience, confidentiality, quality checks and availability—not only the headline rate.

Frequently asked questions

Is medical interpretation included in the hospital bill?

Usually not unless the hospital expressly confirms it. Ask whether language support is provided by the hospital or separately arranged.

Can I use automatic translation for my records?

It may help with initial orientation, but hospitals may need a reviewed translation for clinically important records. Keep every original file.

Does China Med Links publish a fixed price list?

No. We confirm the actual language, volume, location and timing before providing an itemized non-medical service quote.
